Jaguar warriors were elite military unit in the aztec army, similar to eagle warriors, they believed that dressing as the animal they would get it's strength in the battle. It wasn't an easy task to become one though, as the requirement was to have captured 12 enemies during two consecutive battles. Sacrificing them on the altar would bring much more honor to the gods than killing them in battle.

Another rough painting, still in the same mood as the previous piece. Was a fun painting.

Man, I'm Mexican, and it fills me with pride that an artist as talented as you has dedicated not one but two awesome pieces to the great cultures of mesoamerica, which in my opinion are pretty unknown to most of the world and misunderstood even by their descendants (remember the mayan "end" of the world fiasco, which was a complete misunderstanding of their cosmology triggered by popculture and yellow press)
And for that I thank you, thank you for this awesome contributions, and keep it up, have a very nice year man :D
